Uplock: Ready for OS 27
A major update featuring Siri integration, more capable Spotlight search, customizable Shortcuts, and new ways to use your saved information across the system.
Release Overview
Uplock 3.4 is an upcoming release for OS 27. It expands how you can capture, find, and use the information saved in Uplock, with Smart Fill 2, new Siri capabilities, improved Spotlight search, and customizable Shortcuts. The update is coming to five platforms on day one: iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and visionOS.
What’s New
Smart Fill 2
Smart Fill 2 uses Apple’s Foundation Models with Private Cloud Compute to significantly improve recognition accuracy and speed, turning documents, images, and text into organized Uplock items with less waiting and fewer corrections.
Save to Uplock with Siri
Siri can save content from what is currently on screen without opening Uplock. Smart Fill seamlessly categorizes the new item and extracts its useful details.

Search and Retrieve Information with Siri
Users can search Uplock, open items, and retrieve saved information using Siri, including from other apps. Queries can use personal context, such as finding information associated with a person or an organization.
Onscreen Awareness and Actions
In Uplock, users can ask Siri about the items on screen and act on them—for example, opening an item, placing a call, opening an address in Maps, or using saved information in another app.
Improved Spotlight Search
Uplock 3.4 provides a more nuanced and reliable Spotlight search experience, making saved items easier to find from outside the app.
New Customizable Shortcuts
New Shortcuts actions include Smart Fill from a file, image, or text. They can be configured and combined with other actions to create personal workflows.
Continue Across Devices
Siri conversations about Uplock items can continue across devices, allowing someone to move between their Apple devices while keeping the same task in progress.
Privacy and Control
You can control whether Siri and Spotlight can access sensitive information stored in Uplock. For Smart Fill 2, cloud processing uses Apple’s Private Cloud Compute, while on-device processing remains available.
Availability
Uplock 3.4 is coming to iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and visionOS 27 on day one. Availability of individual Siri and Apple Intelligence capabilities depends on Apple’s platform support. Release timing and final feature availability will be announced soon.
